Research has shown that long-term care workers are going to be particularly susceptible to getting sick as they have been functioning in a high state of stress and anxiety over the past two years.
8 Days of Wellness will have the following key events:
We conducted an employee survey to hear from our staff about what they feel is important to their well-being at work. Staff completed the Wellness Week bingo cards and visited our onsite wellness booths to receive further educational material and healthy food to support them during their shift. Last year’s focus was on physical health and education, whereas this year’s focus is on psychological safety and mental health awareness.
Last year’s Wellness Week was very well received by staff. Wellness Week was a tipping point for our organization, where we are now investing in 8 days of wellness and designing a wellness program that runs the full length of the year.
