Support Services Appreciation Day

The third annual Support Services Appreciation Day is happening on September 16.

The third annual Support Services Appreciation Day is happening on September 16.

We established this day to acknowledge and show appreciation for support services workers (e.g. housekeeping, laundry, food services, maintenance, janitorial, recreation, and dietary). Their work both directly and indirectly affects the well-being of residents and clients.

As part of this special day, we’re looking for stories, nominations, and photos of support services workers who make a difference and deserve appreciation. There are a couple of ways you can support our efforts:

  1. With their permission, share photos of support services staff to be shared online.
  2. Submit a few sentences detailing how your support services team helps provide the best quality of care possible.
  3. Share a story of a support services worker and how they’ve made a difference.
  4. Nominate a worker who deserves to have their story highlighted in a special article.

Fill out the form below if you would like to participate in the first Support Services Appreciation Day!

Send us a photo or video testimonial to go with your story!

Other ways you can show your support

You can do a lot at your organization to show your support services workers how much they are appreciated. Here are a couple of idea to get you started.

  • Throw a pizza party
  • Write a thank you card or a card of appreciation to each member of the support services staff
  • Bring a cake to work
  • Include support services staff in a safety huddle
  • Put up a banner on the wall and encourage family members, residents, and other staff members to show their appreciation for support service workers
