1. Choose a host

Select one person to act as the game host. The host will guide gameplay, read questions and answers, and keep the game moving.

2. Join the game

Access the Jeopardy Labs game: Words Matter.

3. Form teams

Gather your group and divide participants into two or three teams
When possible, create teams that reflect a mix of perspectives, roles, and work areas across your workplace.

4. Enter team names

At the bottom of the game screen:

  • Select the number of teams
  • Enter each team’s name

5. Decide which team goes first

Choose a method to determine the starting team, such as:

  • Flipping a coin
  • Picking a number between 1 and 10
  • Any other fair method your group prefers

6. Review the game board

Read the category names aloud and explain that each category contains questions worth different point values.

7. Explain the Jeopardy format

In Jeopardy, questions are presented as answers, and teams must respond in the form of a question

Example:
Clue: We are currently living in this country.
Correct response: What is Canada?

8. Start playing

  • The first team selects a category and point value.
  • The host reads the clue aloud.
  • The team provides their response.
  • The host then reads the correct answer.

If the team answers correctly:
They earn the points and choose the next clue.

If the team answers incorrectly:
The opposing team has a chance to answer.
