Building and managing a safe resident-handling program

There are some essential things to remember to ensure proper care and assistance for residents.

Learn the essential elements to build and manage a safe resident-handling program in your workplace. These include having appropriate documents to support care decisions, assembling a skilled team to provide care, assessing resident mobility for safe transfers, providing mobility aids for people with different abilities, regularly evaluating a resident's needs using a point-of-care assessment, safely using equipment to move residents, recognizing signs that a resident may require more support, and having access to resources for handling patients.

It's also important to manage training for staff to ensure they have the knowledge and skills necessary to provide quality care
