In long-term care it is increasingly apparent that who is on shift is just as important as how many staff are on shift. Quality care is difficult to achieve when we do not routinely engage with one another in a positive, or civil, manner.

WorkSafeBC sponsors Hearts and Hands 2023

May 17, 2023

We are pleased to announce that WorkSafeBC is again supporting the Hearts and Hands conference, as our Founding Partner. We are appreciative of WorkSafe’s long-time support of this event.

Recognizing the limited educational opportunities for healthcare assistants, WorkSafe founded the first Hearts and Hands conference in 2015, with the help of a small group of passionate sector leaders in Victoria. The conference built upon a celebration event for healthcare assistants that was held a year earlier in Victoria.

It was through WorkSafeBC’s leadership that Hearts and Hands grew from that single conference in Victoria to an event that is now held in three locations and attracts more than 500 registrants. We were privileged in 2019 when WorkSafe asked us to take on responsibility for organizing the Hearts and Hands conferences.

WorkSafeBC is a special partner and supporter of this event, and we are happy to have them back supporting this fantastic event that aims to celebrate, educate, and inspire.
