In long-term care it is increasingly apparent that who is on shift is just as important as how many staff are on shift. Quality care is difficult to achieve when we do not routinely engage with one another in a positive, or civil, manner.

Support Services Appreciation Day - Yaletown House

September 14, 2024

A Day in the Life: Celebrating Our Support Services Team

Our dietary team starts their day by preparing nutritious and balanced meals for our residents and staff. They carefully consider dietary restrictions and preferences, ensuring that every meal is both healthful and satisfying. Their dedication to creating high-quality meals supports our resident's well-being, making a significant difference in their daily lives.

At the same time, our laundry team is hard at work. They manage a steady flow of linens, including bed sheets, towels, and resident gowns, ensuring that every item is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. Their behind-the-scenes efforts are crucial for maintaining a hygienic environment and providing fresh, clean supplies for both residents and staff.

In the facility, our housekeeping team is continuously moving through residents’ rooms, and common areas. They maintain cleanliness and order, promptly addressing any messes and ensuring that all areas are sanitary and welcoming. Their diligent work helps to prevent infections and ensures a comfortable environment for everyone.

Throughout the day, our maintenance team is on hand to address any issues that arise. Whether it’s fixing a minor repair or ensuring that all equipment is functioning properly, their expertise keeps our facility in top shape. Their timely responses to maintenance needs ensure that our operations run without disruption.

This daily dedication from each team is the groundwork of our facility’s success. Their hard work, often behind the scenes, allows us to provide exceptional care to our residents and create a positive environment for Everyone.

Thank you to our incredible dietary, laundry, housekeeping, and maintenance teams. Their everyday efforts are deeply appreciated and make a significant impact on our facility’s operations and the well-being of those we serve.
