In long-term care it is increasingly apparent that who is on shift is just as important as how many staff are on shift. Quality care is difficult to achieve when we do not routinely engage with one another in a positive, or civil, manner.

Support Services Appreciation Day - Tabor Village

September 15, 2024

Tabor Village has an incredible, dedicated staff that go above and beyond every day. They attend to residents' needs and spend their time ensuring that everyone has what they like and need so much so that I have too many stories to tell. From the dietary aids that thread needles for a vision-impaired resident to do her needlework, to the one that spends time on a break completing puzzles with a resident because it is important to the resident. Laundry aids know how each resident likes to have their items returned to them, or that they enjoy coming to the laundry room to pick up their items, mostly for the personal visit that they also get to experience. Every day I witness such love, kindness and compassion from the support service staff towards all the residents. You can easily see it is not just work, but truly caring for family.
