Why staff stay: Rethinking retention in long-term care

This webinar explores what organizations can realistically influence and where larger systemic change is needed.

Staff retention continues to be one of the biggest challenges facing the care sector. While the pressures are especially visible in long-term care, many of the factors that influence whether people stay or leave are felt across care settings.

Drawing on three decades of experience and research in long-term care, Dr. Baumbusch will explore what shapes an employee’s decision to stay, from workplace culture and leadership to broader system pressures. She will also look at what organizations can realistically influence and where larger systemic change is needed.

Throughout the session, attendees will be encouraged to reflect on their own workplaces, share what they are seeing and consider practical ways to create environments where people feel supported, valued and more likely to stay.
