Every day, the Support Services team plays a quiet but essential role in shaping the care experience for residents and staff. Across maintenance, dietary, laundry, housekeeping, and support operations, this team ensures that the environment is safe, comfortable, and dignified—often working behind the scenes, but always with purpose and pride.

One example that reflects this spirit is how the team responds during unexpected challenges, such as urgent maintenance issues, resident room transitions, or facility-wide demands like power shutdowns. In these moments, there is no hesitation or fragmentation. Instead, the team comes together quickly, communicates effectively, and ensures work is completed safely and efficiently, with minimal disruption to residents.

What stands out most is not just the completion of tasks, but the way they are completed. Even when differences of opinion arise, the team consistently returns to collaboration. There is a shared understanding that the work is bigger than any one role, and that resident well-being remains the priority. Challenges are addressed respectfully, solutions are found collectively, and the focus remains on moving forward together.

There is also a strong sense of pride in maintaining a safe environment. Across departments, safety concerns are minimal, not by chance, but because of consistent attention to detail, accountability, and care in everyday work.

It is an honour to work alongside a team that is reliable, committed, and deeply dedicated to the people we serve. Their work may not always be visible, but its impact is felt every day in the comfort, safety, and dignity of our residents and clients. They truly go above and beyond—not because it is required, but because it is who they are as a team.

- Ana Gower, Director of Facilities and Support Services.
