Motor vehicle incidents are among the leading causes of traumatic workplace injuries and fatalities in BC. The Safe Driving for Work Checklist has been developed to help employers and their workers take proactive steps to manage driving-related risks. This checklist serves as a practical guide to reinforce safe driving practices and is designed to be used before, during, and after each trip.

In long-term care it is increasingly apparent that who is on shift is just as important as how many staff are on shift. Quality care is difficult to achieve when we do not routinely engage with one another in a positive, or civil, manner.

Summerland Seniors Village Retirement Concepts - Support services team

June 25, 2025

Today, I want to take a moment to recognize a group of individuals who are the quiet strength of our community, our incredible Support Services Team.

From the warm meals served with care, to the fresh linens folded just right, to the spotless hallways and the small repairs that often go unnoticed, you do it all. You show up every day with dedication, pride, and compassion, and you make this place feel like home for our residents.

In healthcare, it’s easy to focus on the clinical side of care but we all know that true care goes far beyond medications and charts. It’s the clean, welcoming spaces, the familiar smells of comfort food, the gentle routine of laundry done with love, and the steady presence of those who make sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.

You are essential. You are healthcare. And you are deeply appreciated.

Thank you for everything you do, not just today, but every single day. You make a difference in ways that truly matter.
