Are you passionate about health and safety? Do you want to work more closely with SafeCare BC? Then you should consider joining our Board.
We're accepting nominations for two positions on our board: At Large Director (Employer - Home and Community Care) and Board Director (Assisted and Independent Living Sector Representative, Non-voting)
If you are interested in standing for the Board or wish to nominate an individual to be a part of the Board, please fill out a nomination form and send it—along with a resume or CV— to board@safecarebc.ca
The deadline for nominations is February 16.
At Large Director (Frontline Worker - Home and Community Care) shall be an elected position for candidates who are frontline workers actively employed in home care and support services organizations.
The Director will serve as a key voice and advocate for the workforce directly engaged in delivering care and support to clients in homes and communities. The role ensures that the perspectives, experiences, and needs of frontline workers are represented in the governance and strategic direction of SafeCare BC. Compensation for travel and time involved in participation on the board can be reimbursed by SafeCare BC.
The Board Director (Assisted and Independent Living Sector Representative) is a passionate and experienced leader to serve as a Non-Voting Representative to the Board, representing the assisted and independent living sectors.
This elected position offers a meaningful opportunity to influence the strategic direction of health and safety in continuing care across British Columbia. The Non-Voting Representative brings sector-specific insight, lived experience, and forward-thinking perspectives to Board discussions, strengthening decision-making and helping ensure SafeCare BC’s work remains responsive, inclusive, and impactful.
While the role does not carry formal voting authority, it plays a vital part in shaping strategy, policy development, and engagement with emerging or transitioning sectors. The Representative also serves as a key liaison for assisted and independent living organizations that may not yet be fully integrated into SafeCare BC membership, ensuring their perspectives inform Board deliberations and long-term planning.
