Motor vehicle incidents are among the leading causes of traumatic workplace injuries and fatalities in BC. The Safe Driving for Work Checklist has been developed to help employers and their workers take proactive steps to manage driving-related risks. This checklist serves as a practical guide to reinforce safe driving practices and is designed to be used before, during, and after each trip.

In long-term care it is increasingly apparent that who is on shift is just as important as how many staff are on shift. Quality care is difficult to achieve when we do not routinely engage with one another in a positive, or civil, manner.

Navigating feedback across cultures

In a multicultural healthcare environment like Vancouver’s, leaders play a pivotal role in both giving and receiving feedback. Yet, many leaders lack the cultural awareness needed to navigate feedback dynamics effectively. Without this lens, even well-intentioned communication can be misinterpreted or silenced—limiting team growth, collaboration, and innovation.

This interactive webinar explores how cultural values shape feedback styles and provides practical tools to foster a safer, more inclusive feedback culture. Participants will learn how to recognize their own feedback tendencies, understand how feedback may be perceived differently across cultures, and adapt their communication strategies accordingly. By strengthening their cultural competency, healthcare leaders will be better equipped to engage all team members—especially those who may hesitate to speak up and unlock valuable perspectives that enhance team performance and patient care.

By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

Increase Awareness:

  • Recognize the cultural context they bring to giving and receiving feedback.
  • Identify their natural feedback style (e.g., direct vs. indirect).
  • Understand how their feedback approach might be perceived by colleagues from different cultural backgrounds.

Develop Skills:

  • Initiate open conversations with their teams about cultural feedback norms and preferences.
  • Navigate and adapt feedback practices across diverse cultural contexts.
  • Encourage and draw out feedback from quieter or more reluctant team members.
