Caregiving, grief, and finding strength in the middle of it all

Join Ron Beleno for an honest and hopeful look at the caregiving journey, from daily stress and uncertainty to moments of purpose and growth. Through personal stories and practical examples, Ron shares how caregivers can build resilience, find strength in community, and use innovation to support their well-being. Drawing on his own caregiving experience, he highlights the power of mindset, connection, and creativity in navigating grief and change. Participants will leave with actionable strategies to re-energize their care journey and reconnect with their purpose.

  • Recognize the emotional landscape of caregiving and identify personal sources of strength.
  • Apply mindset and self-care techniques to reduce burnout and enhance resilience.
  • Explore ways to leverage technology and community supports to ease caregiving demands.

Presented by

Ron Beleno is a recognized caregiver advocate, speaker, and advisor in the fields of aging, dementia, and caregiving innovation. As a long-time family caregiver to a parent who lived with Alzheimer’s, Ron brings lived experience into his work with researchers, innovators, and organizations across Canada and internationally. He is the past Co-Chair of AGE-WELL’s Older Adult and Caregiver Advisory Committee, and a recipient of the AGE-WELL Honorary Fellows Award. AGE-WELL is Canada’s technology and aging network. Ron advises with Healthcare Excellence Canada, the CIHR Institute of Aging, the Canadian Centre for Caregiving Excellence, and many other organizations. He also collaborates with numerous Alzheimer’s and Dementia societies across Canada at the national, provincial, and local levels. In 2025, Ron was honoured with the inaugural Janet Beed Impact Award from the Ontario Caregiver Organization for his leadership in caregiver advocacy.
