Program Assistant

The Program Assistant will support the implementation and impact of our programs.

Do you like the idea of working with a fun team that is helping to decrease workplace injuries and keep healthcare workers safe and healthy? Does working with a small, supportive, and collaborative team appeal to you?

The Program Assistant will support the implementation and impact of our programs. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

Support the execution and impact of SafeCare BC Programming

· Coordinate outreach activities with member organizations

· Support the delivery of online education, including providing technical support for online and virtual education

· Liaising with various groups including members, facilitators, and workshop registrants

· Assist with data management in membership database

· Collect data related to workshop participation and creating reports

· Support Hearts and Hands conference

Qualifications:

· Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Experience in customer service

· Excellent organizational skills and project management skills

· Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

· Skilled with virtual meeting software platforms

· Detail-oriented, ability to handle multiple projects, and manage time well

· Demonstrated ability to meet operational and strategic goals

Work Environment

· A great team atmosphere and focus on people-first culture

· Hybrid (remote and in-office)

What we offer

· Ability to contribute to meaningful work that supports positive change for care workers

· $21/hour based on a 35 hours/week

· 8-week position

About SafeCare BC

We are a non-profit association working to ensure injury free, safe working conditions for continuing care workers in BC. We strive to be the industry leader in advancing injury prevention and safety training for long-term care and home care and support workers. Not only are we committed to improving the health and safety of healthcare workers, but we have the same commitment to our team.

Additional Information:

There will be times that our team will be expected to visit care homes to engage in activities that support our members. Vaccination with a COVID-19 vaccination series approved by Health Canada is a condition of employment at SafeCare BC.
