Dr Debbie Sookman is an internationally known expert in the assessment and treatment of OCD and related disorders through the lifespan. Dr Sookman serves as the ATF Chair and President of the Canadian Institute for Obsessive Compulsive Disorders. She is an Associate Professor at McGill University, in Montreal, and Director of the Canadian Treatment Center for Obsessive Compulsive Disorders.
Dr Sookman is also an experienced clinical supervisor and held the position of Director of Training in the Department of Psychology at MUHC by repeated appointment for a period of 14 years. Her clinical work and research focus on improving rates of recovery in response to specialized treatments. She is a Fellow of the Canadian Association of Cognitive and Behavioural Therapies, Canada, and a Fellow and Certified Trainer/Consultant of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy, USA.
