Space: Creating a culture of suicide prevention

Workplaces can build suicide prevention awareness by challenging common myths, recognizing barriers to prevention, and giving people practical ways to respond supportively. Training can help employees at every level build confidence, use informed language, and contribute to a workplace culture that is more aware, supportive, and responsive.

SPACE Workplace Prevention Training is an engaging, lunch-and-learn style workshop designed to increase awareness, understanding, and confidence around suicide prevention in the workplace. Participants will learn practical strategies for fostering a supportive and suicide-aware workplace culture. The workshop explores how individuals at every level can contribute to a more supportive and responsive workplace environment.

Objectives:

  • Understand how common myths about suicide impact suicide prevention and intervention
  • Investigate barriers to suicide prevention in the workplace
  • Develop awareness and learn practical tips for creating a culture of suicide awareness in the workplace

With frontline suicide intervention experience, she understands the importance of approaching suicide with empathy and is committed to having open and supportive conversations about suicide.
