A profound interest in societal welfare steered Carissa towards non-profits and healthcare sectors, where she amassed three years of diverse experience through internships, freelance projects, and contract roles in marketing and communications.

Born with a natural affinity for the written word, Carissa discovered her passion for writing early in life. This enthusiasm for language and storytelling guided Carissa to Simon Fraser University, where she pursued an English major, complemented by a minor in Communications. A profound interest in societal welfare steered Carissa towards non-profits and healthcare sectors, where she amassed three years of diverse experience through internships, freelance projects, and contract roles in marketing and communications.
