“It's an honour to work here. It's an honour to help many people with their day-to-day lives.”
Tim Oben, a housekeeper at Eden Gardens, may have only been in his position for six months, but he has already made a big impression.
His day begins with cleaning the common areas of the care home. Next, he’ll check 44 resident rooms and perform a quick clean if needed. After this, he starts deep cleaning—typically fitting in four to five rooms per day.
“It’s busy, but it’s rewarding,” Tim says. “Everyone deserves to live in a clean, tidy environment. That’s what I try to provide.”
Tim interacts with residents daily, even if it’s just a quick greeting in the hall. “Some chat, some don’t, but I always try to put a smile on someone’s face.”
