Our Mandate
We strive to empower those working in the continuing care sector to create safer, healthier workplaces by fostering a culture of safety through evidence-based education, leadership, and collaboration.

Who We Are

Established in 2023, SafeCare BC is a non-profit association dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of workers in the continuing care sector in British Columbia. With a focus on fostering a safety culture through education, leadership, and collaboration, SafeCare BC has provided its members with cost-effective training, educational services, and industry safety performance information since 2013.

At SafeCare BC, we strongly emphasize injury prevention, and the organization offers online and in-person learning opportunities for healthcare professionals and resources to support safer workplaces. Additionally, SafeCare BC strives to improve health and safety protocols within the workplace by providing management with training on creating and fostering an organizational culture of safety.

As the industry leader in advancing injury prevention and safety training for long-term care and home support workers, SafeCare BC is committed to responding to the needs and priorities of its members. To this end, the organization continually works with industry leaders and professionals to develop and implement innovative and practical solutions for workplace health and safety challenges.

Who We Serve

We serve over 800 member organizations and 30,000 workers across British Columbia in long-term care, community health support, assisted and independent living, kinesiology, and post-secondary education.

CU Assigned Member

For those organizations, who operate under WorkSafeBC Classification Unit numbers 766011 and 766006, membership in SafeCare BC is automatic, with the exception of health authority owned and operated sites.

If you are not registered under either of these classification units, but would like to take advantage of our programs, services and resources, including member-pricing education and training, you can apply to become a SafeCare BC Associate Member.
