Breakout Session
The Forgotten Griever: Support and Strategies for Healthcare Workers | AM Session
2024, Langley 2024

October 2nd @ 10:30am to 11:45am

Session Description

Healthcare workers are the forgotten grievers. You make relationships with your residents, clients, and patients, and you are expected to carry on when they pass away. But healthcare workers experience the same kind of grief that family members and close friends of a loved one do and need to validate your loss. Join Angela and Stephannie in understanding what it means to take on grief, how the body and brain process and respond to grief, how to know the signs of burnout and stress, and how to take care of yourself.

They’ll also get you comfortable with conversations around death and dying and how to open up those conversations in a safe environment.
