The winners of the healthcare category were announced, and the top prize went to The Gardens at Qualicum Beach for their innovative Gotcha Safety Awards program. This program involves staff members using Polaroid cameras to capture safe work practices.

Eden Gardens took second place with their Passport to Safety Canadian Edition Eh program. Each staff member has their own "passport" and can collect stamps to complete online learning modules, demonstrate workplace safety knowledge, or scavenger hunts to find safety equipment. Eden Gardens is focusing on Canadian flag colours, with a focus on Code Red and Code White, to add a patriotic element to their Passport for Safety.
Sienna Senior Living took third place with its Team Incident Debrief Exercise (TIDE) program, which includes a debrief exercise template, an Incident debrief form, and an investigation and corrective action checklist.

HME Home Health's Signature Series Dove Mattress won the Safety Innovation of the Year Award in the commercial category. Music Care by Room 217 and Handicare were the runners-up with their music care and ceiling lift programs, respectively.

The Safety Dragons, which included Terry Lake, Kerry Bowman, and Aly Devji, presided over the event and provided feedback to the participants.
Overall, the 2023 Safety Den was a great success, demonstrating the importance of promoting health and safety in the workplace. The innovative programs presented by the participants were inspiring. They showed that creativity can go a long way in making health and safety fun and engaging.
