SAFECARE BC ANNUAL REPORT 2024

Satellite Training Centres

To extend the reach and impact of our health and safety education, we establish strategic partnerships across the province, resulting in a network of Satellite Training Centres. These collaborations are pivotal in expanding training capacity and ensuring regional accessibility. Specifically, these partnerships enable us to deliver in-person educational opportunities, fostering a culture of safety throughout British Columbia.

Beyond enhancing our capabilities, these partnerships significantly benefit the Satellite Training Centres. Participating centres gain guaranteed seats in vital training programs, access to experienced SafeCare BC facilitators capable of delivering instruction across diverse programming streams, and the opportunity to cultivate a reputation as a leading educational hub and employer of choice. By providing access to high-quality education and professional development, these centres empower their staff with current best practices, enabling them to create safer work environments for workers, residents, and clients. Furthermore, these partnerships facilitate customized training programs tailored to enhance employee orientation, ongoing staff development, and compliance with occupational health and safety requirements and provide regional colleagues with training opportunities.

These partnerships are not merely logistical but essential for building strong relationships with our members. They foster a sense of community and generate organic awareness of the organization through word-of-mouth, establishing a tangible, physical presence in communities beyond our Burnaby office.

In recent developments, we have refined our network of Satellite Training Centres. Following an assessment, Harmony Court was removed due to space limitations, and Holyrood Manor in Maple Ridge was added, marking the first Satellite Training Centre in that region. Notably, these centres have played a significant role in delivering public workshops, hosting 20 out of 24 scheduled public sessions, and contributing to 66 in-person workshops across the province.
