SAFECARE BC ANNUAL REPORT 2024

Message from the Board Chair

Board Chair’s 2024 Annual Report Message

Reflecting on 2024, I am filled with immense gratitude for the dedication, resilience, and passion of the SafeCare BC team and our members. It is always an honour to serve as Board Chair, and this year has demonstrated remarkable progress in strengthening workplace health and safety in continuing care.

One of our most significant achievements this year has been expanding our education and training programs. By offering innovative, accessible micro-learning opportunities, we have empowered even more frontline workers, leaders, and organizations to enhance workplace safety. Our commitment to engaging leadership at all levels has reinforced a culture of safety and continuous improvement across the sector.

We were also proud to launch our new website—designed to make it easier than ever for members to access free resources, training, and support. This enhanced online presence reflects our ongoing efforts to strengthen member engagement and ensure SafeCare BC remains the primary trusted partner in workplace safety.

We guided our work this year by developing our strategic plan, which sets a clear vision for the future. It reflects our commitment to innovation, collaboration, and proactive injury prevention. Through these efforts, we have seen a positive trend in declining workplace injury rates, a testament to the collective efforts of our members and the SafeCare BC team.

None of this would be possible without the dedication of the incredible individuals who make up SafeCare BC—our staff, facilitators, board members, members and the countless caregivers who champion workplace safety every day. Their commitment to creating safer workplaces is inspiring, and I extend my most profound appreciation to each one of them.

As we look ahead to 2025, we recognize that challenges remain, but we also see tremendous opportunities to continue driving meaningful change. Together, we will build on our progress and remain steadfast in our mission to ensure that every worker in continuing care goes home safe at the end of the day.

Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment.
