Message from the CEO

Reflections on 2024: Strength, Growth, and Impact

As we close out 2024, we reflect on a year of resilience, collaboration, and meaningful workplace health and safety progress. This year presented challenges and opportunities, and our commitment to supporting healthcare workers remained steadfast.

Lessons Learned

One of the biggest takeaways from 2024 was the importance of adaptability. With an ever-evolving healthcare landscape, we learned that innovation and agility are key to meeting the needs of our members. Whether through expanded training, new partnerships, or targeted resources, we focused on solutions that make a tangible difference.

Key Highlights and Achievements

  • Expanding Education and Training – With over 50 workshops delivered in just the first two months of 2024, plus the launch of our new JOHSC course, we provided high-impact training to healthcare workers who work on the frontline.
  • Engaging Leadership Across the Sector – Our Leaders Forum brought together over 70 senior leaders from 40+ organizations, fostering critical discussions on workplace safety.
  • Launching a New Website and Enhancing Member Engagement – A 35% increase in member survey responses highlighted our strengthened connection with our community.
  • Developing a Future-Focused Strategy – Our 2025-2028 strategic plan was developed and approved, setting the stage for continued impact.
  • Improving Workplace Safety – The year ended positively, with injury rate declines in home care and long-term care, demonstrating the power of prevention-focused initiatives.
