SafeCare BC Hosts National Alliance Meeting: Memorandum of Understanding to Guide Future Collaboration
September 21, 2016 | News
Leadership is a key element of this year’s Be Care Aware campaign and this weekend, SafeCare BC took it to the national level as host of the National Alliance for Safety and Health in Healthcare (NASHH) annual meeting.
NASHH includes representatives of health care safety associations from Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. This year’s meeting included the participation of WorkSafe BC, SafeWork Manitoba, Canadian Association for Long Term Care and the Saskatchewan Workers Compensation Board. Among other things, the Alliance focused on long term care injury rates across Canada, violence prevention, accreditation, certification and health human resources.
The Alliance’s work will be guided by a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to raise awareness of high injury rates in long term care and share best practices to address this growing national challenge. Watch for a launch of the Alliance’s web-site in the coming weeks and more updates in the year ahead. Click here for a link to the MOU.
